The Meaning of Our Mark
Our name joins two old Japanese words. The first, mi, carries the sense of governing something, holding it in trust — and of the sacred. The second, kage, is usually read as “shadow,” but its older meaning was the opposite: light. Mikage, then, is to have command of both the shadow and the light.
The M in our mark is two identical arrows (Λ), one set behind the other: the thing itself, and behind it both its light and its shadow. MKAGE is simply that name, Mikage, made shorter.
